E-cigarettes ‘Help Thousands Successfully Quit Smoking’

A UK study looking at survey data from England over the past 10 years showed the proportion of successful quit attempts rose in line with the number of smokers using e-cigarettes. Public Health England stated e-cigs are 95% less harmful than smoking.

Review found that the overall weight of evidence on e-cigarettes suggests they can help people stop smoking and have no serious side-effects. Experts estimate that around 2.8 million people in the UK use e-cigarettes and they have become the nation’s most popular smoking cessation aid.
